Bees – Village Green
Published: 8 July 2026
The Parish Council has been made aware of a naturally occurring bee colony in one of the trees on the Village Green.
To ensure the safety of visitors while protecting this important part of our local environment, the area around the tree has been temporarily fenced off and warning signs have been installed. We kindly ask everyone to respect the fencing and avoid the immediate area.
Bees play a vital role in our ecosystem and are generally not aggressive unless they are disturbed. The Council has carried out a risk assessment and will continue to monitor the situation, reviewing the measures in place as necessary.
With the Carnival taking place this weekend, we would appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping clear of the fenced area and supervising children and dogs whilst visiting the Green.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
